To the north, there is no obvious route to connect to the Westmoreland Heritage Trail.
To the west, there a hope to continue the trail to Mammoth Park, running largely through the industrial areas the railroad once served.
To the south, there is an 8-mile gap between the end of the trail and the Coal and Coke trail in Mt Pleasant. See p39. Someday this gap may be developed, but for now nothing is in the works.
